About Daniyar Serikbay
Daniyar Serikbay is a Dubai-based entrepreneur and investor with experience spanning strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, public-company governance, media, telecommunications, regulated financial services, experiential tourism, travel technology and food production.
He began his career in the United States and the United Kingdom before returning to Kazakhstan in 2007. His subsequent career included investment banking at Renaissance Capital, Central Asia; private-equity and investment roles, including contributing to the establishment and operation of the Kazakhstan–Hong Kong Development Fund; financial leadership at Channel 7; the establishment and management of television-production businesses; more than nine years on the Board of Directors of KazTransCom; and the co-founding of Everest Capital Management.
In January 2021 he acquired 100% of JSC Insurance Company Basel from Kaspi Bank and remains its sole shareholder. Since establishing his principal operating base in Dubai, he has focused on building and developing businesses in experiential tourism, travel technology and food production.

Daniyar Serikbay was formerly legally known as Daniyar Serikpayevich Zhanbekov. The name change was recorded in the Kazakhstan civil registry in August 2023. His current surname, Serikbay, is derived from his father’s given name, Serikpay, in accordance with the Kazakh practice under which a father’s name may be adopted as a family name.
